BYU-Idaho's Ropes Course has reopened and is waiting for people to come and enjoy the fun activities there.

The Ropes Course is located in the Upper Playing Fields, south of the Science and Technology Building. The site will is open for activities every weekday except Wednesday taking in guests from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. with the last activity finished at 8 p.m. It will also be open for appointments and walk-ins on Saturday from noon to 8 p.m. with the last activity finished by 10 p.m.

"We have the Ropes Course itself, which is an aerial park-style of course and then around the course, there are three ziplines that connect to the course," said Jason Thorton, a member of the Campus Recreation Department and the leader of the Ropes Course.

The Ropes Course also offers the Power Pole, which you can climb to the top and jump off. You will also find a giant swing and can participate in ground games for team-building exercises.

For those who want to participate, you need to sign a safety waiver. Those who safely fit between 70-275 lbs. and 4 feet 6 inches in height will fit into the safety harnesses without problems.

There's no need to fear even if you have acrophobia or the fear of heights.

"Well, our facilitators are very good at helping people through the activities that are up there, the elements that are there, and they’re very friendly and they give very clear directions so you can feel as comfortable as possible to be able to do some of these challenges," Thorton said.
