Social Studies Education Composite: History Endorsement
Students in the social studies education degree learn how to educate and enlighten students in social studies. They can work with students ranging from kindergarten to 12th grade. Through the course of this emphasis, you will gain a better understanding of history, and learn how to better teach history to students.

Make a Difference
Social Studies Education students are taught how to teach and enlighten students in grades K-12 in social studies. Social Studies Education majors learn the basics of teaching core disciplines of history, geography, economics, political science, and behavioral studies.

Through this degree, students will understand history. This will help you to learn from history, become a disciple of Jesus Christ, and serve others as He would. You will learn to engage students positively in historical inquiry and positive civic action.

History Teachers, Postsecondary
Promote or create an intended public image for individual courses in human history and historiography. Includes both teachers primarily engaged in teaching and those who do a combination of teaching and research. May write or select material for release to various communications media. May specialize in using social media.
Political Scientists
Study the origin, development, and operation of political systems. May study topics, such as public opinion, political decision-making, and ideology. May analyze the structure and operation of governments, as well as various political entities. May conduct public opinion surveys, analyze election results, or analyze public documents.
Political Science Teachers, Postsecondary
Teach courses in political science, international affairs, and international relations. Includes both teachers primarily engaged in teaching and those who do a combination of teaching and research.
Middle/High School Teacher
Teach students the principles of social studies, and teach classes related to history. Manage a classroom and help students thrive in this area of study. You may also cover topics like history, geography, economics, political science, and behavioral studies.
School Principal
In receiving an advanced degree, you can oversee the day-to-day operations of the school you administer over. Work with teachers in planning and setting goals to help students succeed based on the current student body. You will lead hiring new teachers, work with students, and be responsible for the leadership of the school.
