Internships help students make decisions about future careers in the field of history. Students can choose which area of concentration they'd like to work in. It is advised that students prayerfully consider what experiences would best prepare them for their future careers.

History Internships

Getting Approved
All internships must be pre-approved and registered for before a student begins their internship experience. To be approved, students need to complete necessary prerequisites and complete an internship approval form on I-Plan. After approval, a master agreement will be emailed to the internship provider. It is then the student's responsibility to ensure that their internship provider submits the master agreement. More detailed information can be found on BYU-Idaho's Internship webpage.

Phi Alpha Theta is a National History Honor Society that promotes "the study of history through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication and the exchange of learning and ideas among historians."
To join all you need is 12 history credits, a minimum 3.1 GPA in history, and a 3.0 GPA or higher overall. For the $60 fee (that will be charged to your student account when your application is processed), you will have a lifetime membership in the society and receive a year subscription to the society's academic journal, The Historian.
Phi Alpha Theta is a great way to network and make friends, learn about history as a field, and prepare for graduate school. If you are interested in applying, see Sister Radke-Moss or check out the Bulletin Board in the Ricks Building.
