David Burchfield completed an associate degree at Valencia College before finishing a bachelor's degree in Geography at Brigham Young University, specializing in geographic information systems. He earned a master's degree from Kansas State University in Geography, followed by a doctorate degree in Wildlife and Wildlands Conservation from BYU.
Dr. Burchfield has worked as a GIS specialist and a geospatial data analyst before joining the faculty in the Department of History, Geography, and Political Science at BYU-Idaho in 2021.
