Join President and Sister Meredith as they share life advice, inspiring insights, and reflect on how the spirit of BYU–Idaho can be carried with you into this exciting new phase of life. Pick up your name card, cap, and gown at the BYU-Idaho University Store if you were not able to attend Grad Fest.
Meal Options Available on Campus
Various food options are available on campus for graduates and their families.
Food venues in the Crossroads will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on graduation day. For a list of each venue and time, please refer to the Guest Information. Good 2 Go vending machines around campus will also be stocked with fresh and packaged items.
No food or drink is allowed inside any of the event venues. This helps keep our venues clean.

Commencement begins at 12:45 p.m. Graduates should line up in the I-Center by 12:30 p.m. for the processional, which will begin at 12:45 p.m.

- Pick up their cap, gown, stole, and tassel in the University Bookstore
- Pick up their name card for convocation
- Receive Grad Cash worth $5 for the University Store sale*
- Confirm their diploma mailing address
- Share your contact information with the Alumni Association to stay connected to BYU-Idaho.
- Enter raffle drawings and receive a free gift!
- Take photos at a graduation-themed photo backdrop
- Enjoy refreshments and other celebration games and festivities

Commencement will also be available to view online.
The official graduation attire for BYU-Idaho graduates includes a black robe, a black cap, a blue tassel, and a blue BYU-Idaho stole. Graduates are asked not to modify the graduation robe or cap, but are welcome to wear honor cords, leis, or stoles that represent their country or academic field.

Online Convocation
A virtual Online Convocation is held for online students unable to attend in person. It will be available on the Online Graduation page.
For specific questions regarding convocation ceremonies, contact your college office for details.
*Diplomas will be mailed to students once final degree requirements have been reviewed and confirmed to have been met.
Guest Information
Receive Graduation Information Emails
Friends and families of graduates can sign up to receive important graduation information for the upcoming graduation through email. You can add up to 10 different email addresses for other family members and friends planning to attend. You will receive an initial email when you submit the form and a follow-up email two days before graduation. If you don't see an email come through, you may need to check your junk mail folder.

Dress
BYU-Idaho’s Dress and Grooming Principles and Expectations states that “each student, employee, and volunteer commit to represent the Savior Jesus Christ, the Church, and the Church Educational System…. promote modesty, cleanliness, neatness, and restraint in dress and grooming…. maintain an elevated standard distinctive to educational institutions of the Church of Jesus Christ.”
Consistent with these principles and expectations, and to help us invite the Spirit, guests are encouraged to wear their Sunday best to all graduation events.
While on campus, we invite you to wear,
- Clothing that would cover the temple garment line.
- Clothing that is modest.
- Clothing that is neat and clean.
Sloppy, overly casual, ragged, or extreme clothing is not acceptable.

- Breakfast will be served at the Teton Grill from 8:30 – 10:00 am
- Select venues will be open for lunch from 10:30 am – 2:00 pm
- Chick-fil-A will be open from 10:30 am – 5:00 pm
- MC Market from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
- Soleil from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm.
- Good 2 Go vending locations in buildings across campus will be stocked with fresh food items for purchase.
Food is not allowed in the event venues. Only water bottles and tumblers with screw-on lids are allowed.
Accessible Aids Available
- Wheelchairs: There is wheelchair-accessible seating in each venue. If needed, wheelchairs can be rented for a $50 refundable deposit from the I-Center or Hart Building Ticket Offices.
- Listening Devices: Listening devices are available through the Ticket Office. Please bring a photo ID to check out the devices.
- Translation Services: Spanish and Portuguese translations are available through listening devices for those attending Commencement. Listening devices are available through the Ticket Office.
There are no plans, at this time, to offer translation services at convocations. - Service Animals: BYU-Idaho reasonably accommodates persons with disabilities who require the assistance of service animals. A service animal that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability is allowed. Pets and comfort animals (including therapy and emotional support) are not permitted in university buildings.

Not Allowed into the Graduation Ceremonies
- Flowers in vases with water
- Helium balloons
- Strollers, skateboards, or other large items
- Weapons of any kind
Any noise-making devices, including cell phones, are to be turned off or silenced during the ceremonies.
Parking
Parking permits are not enforced during graduation. The university entrance on West Viking Dr. will be blocked off. You can access the campus at any other entrance.
Elderly and handicapped parking will be provided at specific lots designated by signs. If you can walk longer distances, we ask you to be courteous of others and park further away from the I-Center so that those who are unable to walk far can find convenient parking.
