Diploma and Degree Information

Learn more about when a degree is posted to a transcript, how to find out the status of your diploma or certificate application, and when you will receive your official diploma in the mail.

Diplomas and Certificates

After final grades are posted, candidates who have met all graduation requirements will have their degree or certificate posted to their official transcript within 10 business days. Degrees are not posted for graduation candidates with a past due debt, housing debt, or honor hold. Once the hold is resolved through the Accounting Office or the Student Honor Office, the degree will post.

To confirm the status of an application:

  • Log into my.byui.edu.
  • Select the "Degree Audit" quick link.
  • On the menu located on the left side of the screen select “Diploma or Certificate Application."
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page to view the application processing status. The date the degree earned was posted will be included with the “Degree Posted” status.

Diplomas and Certificates will be printed and mailed 3-5 weeks after final grades post.

Honors

Honors will be posted to qualifying recipients’ official transcripts within 2-3 weeks after final grades post. Those awarded Honors will have them printed on their diploma. For those interested in how Honors are calculated please visit the University catalog.

Official Transcripts

Official transcripts can be ordered at byui.edu/transcripts for personal use or to be sent to a third party. Before final grades post, select “hold until degree is posted.” When this option is selected, the transcript will be sent when the degree is posted. If the degree is already posted select “send now” to have the transcript request processed immediately.
