Copilot is a generative AI service offered by Microsoft in four distinct versions: Copilot (Personal), Copilot (Enterprise), Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Copilot Studio. Copilot is a dual-function service, generating text and images based on text prompts. BYU-Idaho has access to Copilot Enterprise (for employees and students) and Microsoft 365 Copilot (for employees only) but does not currently have access to Copilot Studio or Azure AI Studio. Evaluations are being conducted on these additional services.

Copilot Enterprise and Microsoft 365 Copilot provide commercial data protection. According to BYU-Idaho's contractual agreement, approved Copilot services will not store or use user data to train AI language models.
