Jarom Wardwell

Jarom discovered his passion for investments after taking a microeconomics course, leading him to major in Financial Economics. Through perseverance and dedication, he graduated a year early and soon secured a position at Morgan Stanley as a Private Banking Operations Analyst. Wardwell attributes his success to his involvement in the BYU-Idaho Investment Society, where he competed in the CFA challenge in Utah alongside Professor Rick Hirschi, as well as his internship at Townsquare Capital, where he conducted portfolio reviews and built investment portfolios for clients. While studying and interning, he developed both technical skills, such as proficiency in Morningstar Direct, and essential soft skills like networking and leading meetings, which have significantly shaped his career.

For Wardwell, Christ-centered learning was the foundation of his academic journey, influencing his personal and professional growth. He values BYU-Idaho’s mission of creating lifelong disciples of Christ, a principle that has guided him throughout his education and career. His advice to current and prospective students is to embrace the Financial Economics major with confidence, as it provides a strong competitive edge in the financial industry. With dedicated professors and a supportive alumni network, students have the resources they need to succeed in finance, including on Wall Street.
