Brother Muldowney is a native of Philadelphia. He attended the University of the Arts for his undergraduate work in illustration, and he conducted his graduate studies in Painting at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. He has since taught in colleges and universities all over the United States including Sheridan College, Southwest Minnesota State University, Middle Tennessee State University, Valley Forge Military Academy & College, and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, and he currently teaches painting and drawing at BYU-Idaho. As a multidisciplinary artist, Brother Muldowney’s work has been featured internationally in galleries, museums, collections, and periodicals. Brother Muldowney has been the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions. He is the author of the theoretical text Not Art and has also written and illustrated a number of picture books, including The Inter-Universal Pan-Dimensional Omni-Galactic Alphabetical Guide to the Cosmos for Beginning Space Explorers.
