We are pleased to announce that CES has signed a new enterprise agreement with OpenAI, expanding access to ChatGPT for employees across the Church Educational System. This investment reflects CES's ongoing commitment to providing secure, enterprise-grade AI tools that support teaching, learning, research, and administrative work.
As part of this expansion, existing users will receive a monthly credit (usage) allocation.
Credit allocations help align AI capabilities with employees' different needs while ensuring that enterprise resources remain available across CES. For most users, the assigned allocation should provide ample capacity for day-to-day work. Added capacity may be available for roles that require additional AI capabilities.
Understanding ChatGPT Credits
Enterprise ChatGPT uses a credit system to support a wide range of AI capabilities. Every interaction uses credits, with the amount depending on the feature being used.
For example, everyday conversations typically use relatively few credits, while more advanced capabilities—such as Deep Research, file analysis, image generation, data analysis, and creating AI agents—consume more.
Understanding how different features use credits will help you choose the right tool for each task and get the greatest value from your monthly allocation.
Viewing Your Credit Usage
We encourage you to periodically review your usage so you can better understand how different AI capabilities consume credits.
To view your usage:
- Open ChatGPT.
- Select your profile icon.
- Choose Settings.
- Select Usage.
- Review your monthly usage and remaining credits.
Checking your usage periodically can help you plan your work and take full advantage of your available credits throughout the month.
If You Need Additional Capacity
Some roles and projects require more AI capabilities than others. If your work responsibilities consistently exceed your assigned allocation, please discuss your business need with your supervisor, who can then work with your area’s assigned IT portfolio manager. In the future, requests for a higher credit allocation can be submitted through your institution's established AI or IT request process for review.
Our goal is to ensure everyone has access to the appropriate level of capability while providing broad enterprise access across CES.
Getting the Most from ChatGPT
As we expand access to enterprise AI across CES, we encourage everyone to make thoughtful use of these capabilities by:
- Starting with ChatGPT’s instant chat for everyday tasks.
- Selecting the AI capability that best fits the task.
- Reviewing AI-generated content for accuracy and applying appropriate human judgment before sharing or relying on it.
- Becoming familiar with the different capabilities and monitoring your usage so you can make informed decisions throughout the month.
By using ChatGPT intentionally, we can continue expanding access to secure enterprise AI while ensuring these capabilities remain sustainable and available for everyone across CES.
The CES OpenAI ChatGPT service is designed to support employees in their work. Employees are encouraged to begin with the access provided, become familiar with the available capabilities, and allow their work requirements to determine whether additional capacity is needed.
Thank you for helping us advance the thoughtful use of artificial intelligence throughout the Church Educational System. We look forward to seeing how these tools continue to enhance teaching, learning, research, and administrative excellence across our institutions.
