John Fisher served a mission to the Philippines Tacloban Mission, where he taught in the Cebuano and Waray-Waray languages. He earned a bachelor's degree from Utah State University in chemistry and biochemistry and a doctorate degree in anatomy and cell biology from the University of Iowa.
John has taught anatomy and physiology courses at Kirkwood Community College, Snow College, and BYU-Idaho. He has taught in the biology department at BYU-Idaho since 2015.
