The Willard Art Center, operated by the Idaho Falls Arts Council, is hosting the final days of its main exhibits, Idaho Redneck by Natalie Behring and a photograph collection by Mike Rainey. These exhibits show off Idaho at its best. These exhibits are set to leave on March 16.
The next exhibit is the National Juried Exhibition, which Georgina Goodlander, the visual arts director for the Art Center, says is the most popular of the year.
“For this, we invite artists from across the country to submit work for consideration to be in the show,” Goodlander says. “We received about 400 entries from almost every state across the country. And then we have a juror. We find a different juror every year, somebody very prominent in the art world.”
According to Goodlander, the next exhibition will be open March 20 until June 1. And not only are there galleries for viewing art, the Center has eight studios artists can rent out.
“Some of them actually use it as a working studio where they make their work in there,” Goodlander says. “We have a couple artists that are here a lot. Other artists use it mostly to display their work. So when we have the galleries open, the studios are also open for people to kind of wander through and see what's going on up there.”
