In this episode of the Yarn Podcast, BYU-Idaho adjunct faculty member and professional storyteller Mo Reynolds shares a story from the culturally rich land of India about family.
“When they got to their sister's home, she was thrilled. ‘Thank you,’ she said. ‘Thank you for coming to rescue me. But the tiger, he'll be home any minute. For now, go upstairs, hide in the loft.’ I don't know how they got the donkey up the ladder, but they did. And there they were all tucked away hiding from the tiger.”
She also shared how the family is also a central component of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
“Families show up for each other,” Reynolds said. “We don't always do it well. And sometimes we're embarrassing. But we always show up for each other, because we love each other. And I don't know that there's anything Heavenly Father wants us to do more than love each other, and take care of each other, even if we don't seem to do it very well. He sent his son to die for us. He loves his family. He loves his children.”
