In this episode of “The Yarn Podcast,” professional storyteller Mo Reynolds shares a story from the Czech Republic about being grateful and having grace in tough situations. It also warns people about being greedy.

“Helena didn't really care if Maruša stayed or went, but she wanted more apples, she wanted more strawberries, and she knew that Maruša was hiding more somewhere. She begged her mother to let her go out into the winter and find that hidden stash,” Reynolds said in the story.

She related this to the gospel of Jesus Christ about when good acts come forth, better things await.

“God has designed us to act and not to be acted upon. And when we actively choose to see joy, to choose gratitude, to embrace the phase we are in, however hard and terrible and heavy it might seem, there are still rays of light,” Reynolds said.
