In Rexburg there are many thrift shops for clothes, from Deseret Industries and Goodwill to Daisy Links and Preloved.

Preloved is a different kind of thrift store. It operates as a business that offers local people space to sell their lightly used clothing. It’s like a walk-in closet. Stephanie Wright, the owner of the Rexburg location, says there are 57 booths available for rent at $30 a week.

Sellers choose the category they want to sell for and tag the items themselves with the prices they choose. Wright says this concept helps to get small businesses off the ground and helps grow the local economy.

It's different than most companies since it’s a platform where local people and college students can set up shop and learn more about Rexburg and how much their products may be in demand.

“We're trying to come together as a community to spread the small businesses that are around in Rexburg and surrounding areas,” Wright said. “And we've done a few other events also. We've done some in Idaho Falls and done some, we've done lots of partnering with small businesses, which I feel like really does help the community grow.”

The busiest season for Preloved is right now when there are many products in the closets.

Preloved is in the old stone building at 24 S. 1st W. in Rexburg. It’s open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. To find out more about how to get started, click here or call (986) 497-7505.
