Rexburg has always been an active town and on Feb. 8 at 10 a.m., a Nordic ski cross-country race is happening at the Rexburg Winter Fest at the Teton Lakes Golf Course.
Parker Anderson, the current race director, started this race as an Eagle Scout project in 2010 when he was 14.
“There's not really another event like this in Rexburg, so it's unique, and it really is something that everyone can do. So that's why I love it,” Anderson says.
There are four categories for this race: a 10K, a 5K and a 2K kids run but there is a special category for couples as well because Valentine’s Day is near.
Rexburg’s Winterfest, a separate event, will also be happening on the same day, at the same location. There will be food, activities, and more for the public to enjoy.
“And, you know, everyone doesn't have to do the cupid cup,” Anderson says. “It would be great if you wanted to try it out, but there's also the polar plunge if you wanted to sign up for that day of, you know, or just come to the Winterfest and watch people do it.”
