The Museum of Idaho, located in Idaho Falls, is preparing for a new exhibit next month following the Above and Beyond exhibit leaving on January 5.

The next exhibit is called “Artificial Intelligence: Your Mind and the Machine.”

“The exhibits were actually going to be really fun because I think a lot of people just would anticipate that it's mostly like screens,” said Jeff Carr, the executive director of the Museum of Idaho. “And of course there are screens, but there's a whole bunch of also physical-based interactive displays, games, puzzles, all sorts of examples from history and pop culture that help explain AI concepts in fun, engaging ways that are easy for us to understand, even if we're not computer scientists or whatever.”

This exhibit is the first of its kind in the U.S. It teaches how A.I. was developed, what it is being used for and the limits and securities being placed on it. There are also references to A.I. in pop culture like Skynet from Terminator.

"That's part of what this exhibit is all about is we got to learn as much as we can. So, we make sure that we're using it properly,” Carr said.
