The Idaho Art Lab in St. Anthony is working to raise money to buy the building they’re currently renting in St. Anthony. The Idaho Art Lab was founded in 2010 and its mission is to promote “the visual arts” and provide "opportunities to people of any age, ability or economic status to engage in the arts.”

"One of our biggest accomplishments was when we started our capital campaign to actually purchase the property and we're actually still currently actively seeking donations for people to help us continue this purchase of the property," said Daniel Hidalgo, the director of education and one of the cofounders of the non-profit. "We have in three years, the Idaho Art Lab has purchased about 40 % of the property."

Hidalgo says the lab focuses on using all types of mediums, especially pottery and ceramics. However, it’s not limited to the wheel. People can also paint on these pots and more and according to its website, they can also help people make and polish jewelry and more.

"There's lots of opportunities to help. The best way to help is just volunteer with your time. You know, it doesn't have to be a monetary gift. It can be a gift of your time," said Hidalgo. "We have volunteer shifts where we train our volunteers to use the equipment and actually then they have access to it."

The Rexburg Women’s Art Guild is also visiting and presenting on May 29th from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. The center is located in St. Anthony at 2355 S. Yellowstone Hwy. Its hours and days are every weekday from noon to 7:00 P.M. You can find pout more information by visiting https://www.idahoartlab.org/.
