The Friends of the Marshall Public Library in Pocatello is a volunteer organization which helps raise funds for the library and its programs. This weekend, it’s hosting a book sale to raising money for future endeavors of the institution.

The book sale includes fiction, young adult books, children’s books, romance, mystery, history, science, biography and even some vintage books.

"You pretty much name it. Whatever people donate to us, we try to organize throughout the year, keep it all nice and divided by genre,” said Linda Davis, the vice president of the organization.

Hardcover books are $2 a piece and soft covered books are $1. Book series are priced accordingly. Also, they accept cash, credit card and debit card as well. Even people who are not keen on reading can come to the event and they can help you. And all the money goes to help the library out.

Davis says staff members attend the organization’s meetings and will request items from time to time.

“They describe it for us. They tell us why they feel it's important and necessary. And then we decide if it falls within the scope of what we feel we can do for them. And generally, yes, then we pay for what they need,” Davis said.

The event happens this Friday and Saturday, opening at 10 a.m. both days and closing on Friday at 5 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Marshall Public Library in Pocatello.
