The city of Driggs will host the Teton Valley Skijoring’s Grand Showdown Saturday and Sunday. Skijoring is where people ski or snowboard behind a horse while going through an obstacle course.

“So, we're going to have on February 22nd and 23rd, 150 races over that two day, each day,” said Neil Stobaugh, one of the main leaders of the event.

According to Stobaugh, there will be six different categories. One is for kids 12 and under, another is for novices or people who are new, a womens category, a sport division for more skilled athletes and ones for professionals and even snowboarding alone.

There will also be prizes for those in the competition for the fastest times on Saturday and Sunday alone and all together.

“We're going to guarantee there's $30,000 in cash prizes for the day winners. So, the six divisions on Saturday, the six divisions on Sunday and then the overall winners will share the $30,000 cash prizes,” Stobaugh said.

Sponsors also have prizes like cast iron cookware from South Carolina. West Knife Works will also give out knives to winners of some of the events.
