“Look Back, Look Around, Look Up and Look Unto Christ,” said Jason Reeder, the chair of the Department of Communication at BYU-Idaho in his devotional address, Tuesday.
Reeder graduated from BYU-Idaho in 2006. Since then, he has worked in different capacities at the university, from the Admissions Department to now as a faculty member and chair of the Communication Department.
In his devotional address, he shared how he remembered how Nephi in the Book of Mormon was told to look and he saw many marvelous things like the birth of Christ and more.
“Consider the influence for good that taking the time to look has had or could have in your life. My hope is that we will follow Nephi's example by praying and seeking for the desire to behold. In other words, strive to have the eyes to see the Lord at work in your life. I invite you to look back, look around, look up, and look unto Christ,” Reeder said.
In an interview with BYU-Idaho Radio, he urged listeners to remember and look back to see when the Lord has made an impact on your life.
“It's just over time, just small efforts trying to be good and do good,” Reeder said, “and then looking back and seeing how the Lord has helped me do that. And it gives me, again, it encourages me and gives me hope for trying to be and do good in the future, trying to become a saint.”
