BYU-Idaho has many long-running activities including roller skating at the Manwaring Center Grand Ballroom. Students can have fun with new people as they try to roll on wheeled shoes down the rink.

It costs $3 to get in with your I-Card. It happens every Monday, Saturday and every second Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. and from 8:30 to 10:00 p.m.

"We rent skates as part of the cost of coming roller skating at Skate Way," said Harold Rose, the Recreation Services business manager and overseer of the roller-skating activity. "You may bring your own if you choose to do so, but they must be approved by myself in advance of using them to make sure they comply with management requirements for BYU-Idaho."

It’s a great place for people to make new friendships and try something new. Rose says it’s also entertaining to see other people try to skate.

"The funniest thing we’ve seen is we had a person some time ago that wanted to skate with just one skate on and he tried to skate like a skateboard which was a little awkward but he liked it and it gave everyone something to kind of be amused about for the evening."
