BYU-Idaho's Recreation Department is using new equipment for sports and fitness.

The department has a number of facilities that are continuously being updated with new equipment like the Fitness Center located in the Hart Building with a new hack squat, a belt squat and more.

“Even in the I-Center, we always just try to update our equipment, especially like basketballs. I mean, there were basketballs from 2019 when I was a freshman here, still here, but now we updated it. We have super nice basketballs,” said Kobe Garrick, with the Rec Center.

To help the student body socialize and learn healthy habits, not only physically, but also socially, there are activities like Pop and Play, an activity where students can pop in and play games like miniature golf and corn hole.

“It's just a way for people to come and belong no matter if you're super athletic or just like to be social. Like we provide this area to come in just to be social, to play games, have fun,” Garrick said.

The games are available on Court 2 in the I-Center every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.
