BYU-Idaho and its Blue Crew are asking for more volunteers for the competitive basketball championship games and tailgate party on Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Those who want to volunteer should go to the Manwaring Center’s Student Activities and Involvement Center desk at 4 p.m. on Friday. They'll receive a free ticket to attend the games and work these events.

Volunteers will help with posters, face painting, handing out prizes and even helping IBC companies which will be selling products during these events.

Other volunteers will hype the audience up during the games and will help keep things clean before and after the championships.

“So, what we do is we get volunteers for all different events throughout campus like Campus Life Events like First Friday, I-Night," said Allie Weller, the organizer of these volunteer efforts. "We do things with Campus Recreation like the basketball championships, volleyball championships and we just provide as many service opportunities that helps the students feel like they belong and are included in the campus.”

There will be other activities that will happen as well.

"We will be doing events like hippity hop. We’re going to see faculty members race across the floor on a yoga ball and it will be super-duper fun and we are going to watch them compete," Weller said.

"We also have a ton of events like that where we will get the crowd. The theme is camo, it’s called Operation Fill the Hart, so if you wear your camo will most likely pull you down from the crowd and will make sure that you get a prize if the crowd cheers loudest for you," Weller said.
