Finals are getting closer every week for BYU-Idaho students, which means many of feeling the pressure and starting to stress out.
To help ease students' stress, the Hope Council and the BYU-Idaho Wellness Center with the Student Events Committee have started Chillfest. In this event, students can learn test-taking and study tips as well as do fun de-stressing activities.
The event will happen on July 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Manwaring Center’s Special Events room 387.
"One of the things that we wanted to do was to provide a way for students to reduce stress at a very stressful time so that’s what Chillfest focuses on," said Tanner Mecham, director of the Hope Council. "Chillfest will have a lot of activities and games offered at this event."
While the games are not yet set in stone, some of the options include making vision boards, Giant Jenga, board games, card games, coloring pages, sand trays and more. This will make the event a more relaxing experience before finals.
Mecham also said there will be brownies and other refreshments.
"But, you know it’s shown that though preparation of test taking is super important to make sure to take care of yourself before you take the test and that’s what this event is trying to do," Mecham said.
