K-pop is a very successful format of music hailing from South Korea, and it's coming to BYU-Idaho for International Dance Night.
For those who want to join this fun experience, the event is Thursday, from 8 to 9:30 p.m. in the Manwaring Center’s Grand Ballroom, room 220.
"We just had a lot of interest in K-pop," said Maddie Mauia, a DJ and planner for this event.
"As I said before, I’m a DJ so I get to hear everybody’s song requests and stuff like that," Mauia said. "And K-pop is something that gets brought up quite a bit. And so, I don’t personally know a lot about K-pop but I have been trying to get better at my knowledge in that so that we have a good time."
For those who don't know how to dance, don't worry, because there will be dance instructors to assist and get the basics down. Plus, you can learn more about South Korea and its rich culture.
"We do get a lot of BTS requests and New Jeans as well and those are just some off the top of my head," Mauia said. "We don’t have a song chosen yet for what we’re going to do our dance this upcoming Thursday that’s coming up. But I know it’s going to be a good time."
