BYU-Idaho's Books and Buddies program is happening this month.
The program helps children start to learn literacy early and it helps parents to be inspired to help their children read.
"We've actually had families come from Idaho Falls and Pocatello at one time," said Trevor Rowe, the associate dean in the Home and Family Department at BYU-Idaho and one of the leaders of the program.
The free program can inspire children to begin learning, reading books, developing muscle dexterity and preparing them for a lifetime of learning.
The next event is Nov. 18 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Hinckley Building's main gym.
