The Entrepreneur Society at BYU-Idaho is gearing up for an exciting pitch competition. It will feature a panel of distinguished judges and promises an evening of opportunity for students. This Shark Tank-styled event will be a significant milestone for the society, which aims to cultivate the entrepreneurial spirit in students and provides real-world business experiences for them as well.

There was a record number of travelers for Independence Day, but gas prices remain stable in the Gem State. AAA reports that in Idaho, the average price for a gallon of regular gas is $3.61, which is three cents less expensive than it was a month ago and 32 cents less than a year ago.

John Fisher, who works at BYU-Idaho as the associate dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, gave this week’s devotional titled, “Trust in Him: Making Critical Decisions Correctly.” His address talks about the importance of seeking spiritual guidance and confirmation when making critical life choices.

BYU-Idaho alumnus Jake Hartner works as an ancestral living skills instructor and teaches primitive pottery workshops. In these classes, students learn to gather their own clay, make their own firing pit and create functional ceramic pieces to take home with them.

Rexburg Community Theatre is putting on Shakespeare in the Park. They will perform “Macbeth” this coming weekend at Porter Park. Entrance is free to whomever would like to watch.

Thursday, Rexburg celebrates the 4th of July with its annual Independence Day Parade. The festivities are on Thursday from 10 a.m. - noon. There will be candy, floats, performers and other activities throughout the day.

Finals are getting closer every week for BYU-Idaho students, which means many of feeling the pressure and starting to stress out.
