REXBURG— With the recent water curtailment order issued by directors of the Idaho Department of Water Resources on May 30, a lot of worry and economic concern has been stirring among the people of Idaho in relation to agriculture. Currently, the Idaho Department of Water Resources has paused its curtailment compliance field inspections and is working to come to an agreement with the groundwater districts in Bingham, Bonneville, Jefferson, and Clark counties. This curtailment impacts groundwater users who hold 6,400 groundwater rights, and potentially impacts some 500,000 acres of farmland.

Ronald and Rebecca Craven spoke at BYU-Idaho’s devotional today. Sister Craven, who formerly served as the second counselor in Young Woen General Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, spoke about humble leadership, and Brother Craven, who formerly served as the mission president in the North Carolina Charlotte Mission and now as the mission president of the Salt Lake City Headquarters Mission, spoke about the importance of hard work and effort.

Winner of the 21st season of American Idol, Iam Tongi performed a sold-out concert at BYU-Idaho’s Center Stage last Friday.

BYU-Idaho's AstroFest has helped children learn about STEM fields through space exploration since 2017 and BYU-Idaho's Physics Department is still doing the same thing today. The event happens this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the George S. Romney Building and the Jacob Spori Building's quad.

LeRoy Transfield’s exhibit “Impressions in Clay” is now open in the Spori Art Gallery at BYU-Idaho. His sculptures include religious and figurative art with an impressionistic style. The free exhibit is open through July 25.
