Sugar-Salem High School has established itself as a dominant force in 4A athletics, with numerous state titles, including several from the boys’ basketball team. Led by head coach Shawn Freeman since 2013, the team has achieved consistent success, winning multiple championships. This season, the Diggers have started strong with a solid record and notable defensive improvements. They aim to continue their winning streak and to add another championship banner to their collection.

Senator Doug Ricks, R-Dist. 34, has served Idaho in the legislature for years now. A small business owner and former BYU-Idaho employee, in 2020, he finished his first term in the House of Representatives in Idaho. He’s now in his second term as a state senator for Idaho’s 34th District. Since then, he’s become the Vice Chair of Judiciary & Rules and a member of the Local Government and Taxation committee.
