Winter 2020 Power to Become Conference

p2b Winter

Power to Become is a conference at BYU-Idaho to help motivate students and all those who attend to discover their passion, tell their story and network effectively. In 2019 there were no P2B conferences but it’s back for 2020 with amazing speakers and entertainment.

The speakers will be Damond Watkins, the commissioner for the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships; Alisha Stratton, the I/T technical director at USAA in San Antonio, Texas; Joshua Iverson, the principal and owner of the National Digital Marketing and Revenue Development; Amy Antonelli, the CEO of Humanitarian Experience, Inc; Dr. Tommy Ahlquist, a retired physician and real estate developer; and Scott Haws, an award-winning news anchor with NBC News.

The event is happening Friday, Feb. 7 at the Hart Auditorium at BYU-Idaho.

“We are starting to move away more from speakers who are in the highlight a lot, who are famous or self-promoting…more about people who have been really successful that maybe you still haven’t heard about and something that might be more relatable to the students,” said Tyler Richey, the Career and Alumni Services manager at BYU-Idaho.

Not only will the conference by full of inspiration and motivational speeches, but there will be incredible entertainment with BYU’s Vocal Point.

“We are giving away tons of prizes this year,” Richey said. “We are giving away a 55-inch flat screen, an iPad, a VR set, a Nintendo Switch. I mean I could go on about all of the prizes we are giving away.”

P2B will be this Friday at 7:00 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for students and BYU-Idaho employees and $15 for community members, which also includes dinner. You can get your tickets here.
