This Saturday, Oct. 24, and next Saturday, Oct. 31, you can listen to a BYU-Idaho produced radio drama. "The War of the Worlds" is the classic radio drama from Orson Welles and adapted by Howard Koch.
BYU-Idaho students in the Oral Interpretation class voiced the radio drama and a BYU-Idaho communication student edited the drama for the radio, adding music and sound effects.
The original radio drama of “The War of the Worlds” debuted on Oct. 30, 1938, and allegedly caused a little panic as people listened to the program. Welles adapted the drama from the H.G. Wells’ novel written in 1898.
You can enjoy the BYU-Idaho take on the radio drama at 8 p.m. on KBYI 94.3 FM. You can also listen online at https://www.byui.edu/radio/stream-943. If you have a smart speaker, you can ask it to play KBYI FM.
