Jake Scott, multi-Platinum-certified singer, songwriter, and producer, will perform at BYU-Idaho on Friday, May 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the Hart Auditorium.

Born and raised in Fayetteville, AR, and based in Los Angeles, CA, Jake Scott is a professional artist who consistently connects with audiences through his honest songwriting and heartfelt storytelling. In 2018, he began releasing one single per month independently. Attracting a diehard fanbase, he caught the attention of Elektra Records and inked a deal with the label. Thus far, he has impressively tallied just shy of 1 billion total streams.

Last year, he notably joined forces with Russell Dickerson for “She Likes It,” gathering nearly 300 million streams, picking up a Double Platinum certification from the RIAA, and landing a nomination for “Collaborative Video of the Year” at the CMT Awards.

He has delivered unforgettable performances on “Today,” “The Kelly Clarkson Show” and “Good Morning America,” to name a few. Beyond praise from “American Songwriter” and “Billboard,” “People Magazine” named him among its “Emerging Artists” in 2022.

As a songwriter, he has songs recorded by Morgan Wallen, Aloe Blacc, Jason Mraz, Sara Evans and others. He sold out every date of his first headline tour in 2022. In 2023, Jake brings a whole lot of heart back to pop music on his debut album, “Lavender,” released on Elektra Records in October 2023.

Opening for Jake Scott will be singer-songwriter Jacob Khalil. Since moving to New York from Salt Lake City in 2020, the Houston native has become a staple in the New York music scene. In 2023 Jacob sang alongside Sam Smith on Saturday Night Live. Khalil is known for his uplifting, positive sound and a voice that soothes the soul.

Tickets for the event range from $10 to $40. Purchase tickets at www.byui.edu/tickets.
