Live entertainment has become a valued part of the BYU-Idaho experience, drawing students and community members together for evenings built around shared music and memory. This fall, that tradition continues when singer-songwriter Jake Scott brings his heartfelt pop sound to the Hart Auditorium.
Scott will perform as part of BYUI Live! on Friday, Nov. 13, at 7:30 p.m. Known for honest, melody-driven songs like “Tuesdays,” “Favorite T-Shirt,” and “Like No One Does,” Scott has built a career on turning ordinary moments into songs that feel personal.
Scott’s path to the stage started in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where he began writing songs that would eventually reach millions of listeners. His 2013 debut EP, Of Life and Love and Longing, landed on Billboard’s Heatseekers chart and led to a publishing deal with GRAMMY Award-winning producer David Hodges. Starting in 2018, Scott committed to releasing one song every month for three straight years—an independent effort that grew his following from a few thousand listeners to millions and eventually caught the attention of Elektra Records.
Since then, Scott has tallied nearly one billion streams. His collaboration with Russell Dickerson, “She Likes It,” has surpassed 300 million streams, earned a 2x Platinum certification from the RIAA, and picked up a nomination for Collaborative Video of the Year at the CMT Awards. He has also written songs recorded by artists including Morgan Wallen, Jason Mraz, Aloe Blacc, and Sara Evans, performed on TODAY, Good Morning America, and The Kelly Clarkson Show, sold out his first headline tour in 2022, and released his debut album, Lavender, on Elektra Records in 2023.
"Jake Scott is one of the most requested artist year after year by students,” said Tanner Christensen, BYUI Live!’s entertainment promoter. “We are thrilled to bring him back to campus for the third time!”
As BYUI Live! rounds out its lineup for the year, Scott’s Nov. 13 show adds another night to a series designed to give students and the surrounding community more reasons to gather, connect, and make memories together.
Tickets go on presale for BYU-Idaho students on Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 10 a.m., with public sales opening Friday, Sept. 4, at 10 a.m. K-12 students can purchase at the BYU-Idaho discounted rate by showing a school photo ID at the Ticket Office inside the University Store.
