The Jacob Spori Art Gallery at Brigham Young University–Idaho is pleased to announce the opening of Behold the Lamb of God, a moving and spiritually inspiring exhibition that invites contemplation of the life, ministry, and eternal mission of our Savior, Jesus Christ. The opening reception will take place on Thursday, November 6, from 7–9 p.m., and the exhibition will remain on display through December 19, 2025.
This exhibition brings together a remarkable collection spanning centuries of devotion—from the timeless etchings of Rembrandt to works by many beloved contemporary Latter-day Saint artists. Featured among these is an original depiction of the Savior by Sister Kristen M. Yee, who currently serves as Second Counselor in the Relief Society General Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Each artwork serves as a witness of the divine, testifying of Christ’s infinite love, mercy, and majesty.
Throughout history, art has been a sacred means of drawing nearer to God. Inspired by faith and reverence, artists have sought to portray the holiness of Christ—not as objects of worship, but as expressions of gratitude, devotion, and testimony. Behold the Lamb of God unites these inspired voices across media and generations to honor the Redeemer who gave His life for all mankind.
The exhibition encourages reflection on Jesus Christ as the Creator and the Eternal Son, born in humility, who bore our sins, sorrows, and infirmities. He is the Comforter in times of trial, the source of peace in moments of despair, and the light that restores hope and joy to every soul.
Presented during the sacred seasons of Thanksgiving and Christmas, Behold the Lamb of God also invites contemplation of His promised return, when the earth will be renewed in righteousness and divine glory. Through these sacred portrayals, the exhibition celebrates the power of art to testify of Jesus Christ and the eternal truth that He lives, loves, and will come again to reign in glory.
