Brigham Young University Idaho’s Department of Dance will showcase the power of color through their dance showcase titled, “Celebrate in Color” on March 17 through March 21 in the Snow Drama Theater. The show will express ideas through dance by using a variety of different colors, lack of color, cultures, and experiences.
There will be 21 numbers in the show that will incorporate colorful, stylistic movement through different genres of dance. The performance will include genres such as jazz, ballroom, Celtic, contemporary, and a unique pioneer number.
“If you like hip-hop we’ve got an amazing hip-hop number, if you’re a ballet dancer, we’ve got a really fun ballet number. We’ve got a little bit of everything,” said Extravadance director Wendy Bone.
The performance will also include enhancing multi-media and props that the dancers will use throughout their routines.
Tickets for the event are $6 for the general public and $3 for BYU-Idaho students. Show times and dates can be found online through the BYU-Idaho Ticket Office.
