The Idaho Supreme Court will hear three cases on the Brigham Young University–Idaho campus in Rexburg on Wednesday, June 10. Hosting the Court provides students, employees, and members of the Rexburg community an opportunity to observe the state Supreme Court in session.

The Special Events Room (MC 387) in the Manwaring Student Center will be converted into a courtroom for oral arguments scheduled at 8:45 a.m., 10:00 a.m., and 11:15 a.m. All five Idaho Supreme Court justices will be present in person.

The cases scheduled are:

  • 8:45 a.m – State v. Crombie
  • 10:00 a.m. – Bowen v. Penrod
  • 11:15 a.m. – Smith v. Penny Manning (in her official capacity)

A public Q&A session with the justices will follow at approximately 12:30 p.m.

“This event provides a unique opportunity for students and community members to observe and better understand the role of the courts in preserving justice and constitutional principles,” said University Public Affairs Director Brett Crandall.

Additional case information is available on the Idaho Supreme Court calendar.

The Idaho Supreme Court travels annually to different cities across the state to hear oral arguments. The Court last visited Rexburg in November 2024.
