The Board of Directors recently approved a project for a major remodel of the David O. McKay Library. We express our appreciation to the Board for their approval and support of the project, which will be a blessing to our students and faculty.
The remodel will be a two-phase approach. Phase one will include the west wing, basement, and a new south entrance to the east wing of the McKay building. Phase two will include the east wing of the building. It’s anticipated that phase one construction will begin on August 1 and go until January 2026. Phase two construction will begin January 2026 and go until January 2027.
Preparations for phase one of the remodel will begin immediately with bookshelves and offices being moved from the west wing to the east wing. We anticipate that there will be increased noise and disruptions from now through the end of the semester as preparations are made for construction to begin on August 1. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
Although there will be limited access to computers, books, and study space, all library services will be available throughout the remodel.
The tutoring and other learning centers and labs will remain in their current location during phase one.
