Mechanical Engineering Capstone Project

The Mechanical Engineering capstone program is to provide a climatic experience in which students integrate their knowledge and skills to solve real-world design problems.
Students work on a project for capstone.

The Mechanical Engineering Capstone Project was started in the fall of 2003. The purpose of the project is to provide a “capstone” type experience in which engineering students integrate the knowledge and skills they have obtained throughout their undergraduate studies to solve a real-world design problem. To date, over 100 design projects have been completed for various sponsors, including sponsors from industry and national laboratories. The Capstone Design Project serves as a means of providing students with a significant educational experience, and sponsors with creative design solutions.
