Psychology Introduction

With a Bachelor of Science degree in general psychology, you will gain the foundational knowledge in many different areas of study including:

  • Cognitive Psychology: The internal mental processes such as problem-solving, memory, and decision-making. 
  • Developmental Psychology: The process on how humans change and grow across the lifespan, focusing on physical, cognitive, and social development. 
  • Abnormal Psychology: The focus on psychopathology and abnormal behavior, often within a clinical context. 
  • Social Psychology: The process of how an individual’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are influenced by the actual, imagined, or implied presence of others. 
  • Personality Theory: The study of the characteristic patterns of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that make a person unique. 
  • Neuroscience: The study of the nervous system, including the structure and function of the brain and spinal cord.
