This Friday, BYU-Idaho is going to be hosting it's once a semester activity where the whole school gets together and gets to know each other.

Livvy Solorzano, Campus Life Event Coordinator, said there are many benefits for students to come and participate at First Friday.

“It’s just a really great way for new students to meet new people. It’s just a fun thing, It’s a fun dance. That’s not like your typical like high school dance because it’s like yes will have that but then we also have a lot of other activities going on, so people can go to the dance and then they can go hang out meet new people,” Solorzano said

This semester, new activities have been added to the First Friday lineup.

“I’d say the claw machine is very new, it’s the first time we are trying it. They’re going to rappel off the I center into a huge ball pit to get balls, and then they coincide with a prize. Then for our craft room, usually we just have bracelet making and airdry clay, but this time we are going to have henna as well. If you want to go get henna, you can do it on yourself. We’ll have stencils there, or you can have them do it on you themselves, and so that’ll be very fun.” Solorzano said

Solorzano said they are excited for their prizes, which will be the most different and new for BYU-Idaho students.

“Our costume contest. That’s not really new necessarily, but the prize for it is definitely bigger than what we’ve done in the past. So the prize for the costume contest is we’re gonna have RAY-BAN Meta sunglasses for the winner. So we’re really excited about that.” Solorzano said.

Solorzano invites all BYU-Idaho students to come and party this Friday.

“Just come to first Friday. There's going to be a lot of activities. It’s going to be really fun. Definitely worth it. Yeah, come see the human claw machine. Do the cornhole competition. Last day to enter is Thursday and then yeah that's pretty much it, it’s going to be really exciting really fun,” Solorzano said

Tickets for the event are $5 and are available online through the I belong app or by going to the online ticket office.
