Elder Bernard P. Brockbank Collection

Elder Bernard P. Brockbank (May 9, 1909 – Oct 11, 2000)

Elder Bernard P. Brockbank was the managing director of both the Mormon Pavilion at the New York World's Fair in 1964 and 1965 and the World Expo Osaka, Japan in 1970. Elder Brockbank was an assistant to the Quorum of the Twelve from 1962 to 1976 and a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy from 1976 to 1980. His legendary leadership, executive abilities, and practicality provided the driving force behind two successful world’s fair pavilions for the Church. From these major world events, missionary efforts exploded, contributing to significant increases in membership. The expos also changed perception of the Church from a provincial church to a worldwide faith.
