David O. McKay Library Remodel Project
The Board of Directors approved a major remodel of the David O. McKay Library. We express our appreciation to the Board for their approval and support for the remodel, which will bless our students and faculty. The remodel will be a multi-year project that will be divided into two phases.
Phase One
August 2024 – September 2025

Library Resource, Locations, and Availability
Although there will be limited access to computers, books, and study space, all library services will be available throughout the remodel.
- Tutoring and other learning centers will remain on the second floor of the east wing.
- Librarian offices will be temporarily moved to the study rooms on the second floor of the east wing.
- The east-wing first-floor computer stations and study areas will be removed to make room for bookshelves.
Project Update Spring 2025
Adjusted Timelines
- The first phase of the McKay Library remodel is currently ahead of schedule. It’s estimated that the remodeled west wing will be ready for use at the beginning of fall semester.
- Phase two of the project will begin fall semester and is estimated to be completed in September 2026.
West Wing Enhancements
Once completed, the west wing will offer a variety of updated and new amenities for campus, including:
- The full library book collection, housed on compact shelving to create more study space.
- Large and small study rooms designed for group collaboration.
- Open study areas featuring whiteboard walls for brainstorming and studying.
- Private study nooks for individual focus.
- A new parent-friendly study area with a dedicated play space for babies and toddlers.
- A prominent space for displaying the replica Grandin Press.
- A cozy fireplace lounge for a more home-like study atmosphere.
- Increased access to electrical outlets for computer a phone charging
