A degree in occupational safety and health is one of BYU-Idaho’s best-kept secrets. Occupational safety and health professionals protect employees by evaluating and controlling health and safety hazards in the workplace. Our graduates have very high job-placement rates, very high starting salaries, and excellent potential for continued income growth.
Who Are We?
The department of Health Services provides instruction for students pursuing majors and minors in the fields of health care administration, public health, and occupational safety and health.
Employment prospects in these fields are very good and the starting salaries range from around $38,000/ year to $90,000
The Department of Health Services has regrettably had to eliminate some programs in recent months. Although these programs still have classes listed in the course catalogs to help students currently enrolled to complete their degree requirements, the programs are not open for new students to enroll. Those programs are Health Education (minor) and Medical Assisting. We regret any inconvenience this will cause.
