Changing technology has affected how we access information. We no longer are confined by walls or need to be tethered to a terminal to find information. It finds us. Access to information surrounds us and permeates nearly every aspect of our lives. Digital content lives constantly at our fingertips on our smart phones, tablet computers, or e-book reading devices. The complexity of technology and how society chooses to address its use can make it difficult to understand how copyright laws and rules are applied to this constantly changing digital environment. We need to enhance our understanding of copyright principles to determine how to appropriately apply them in our teaching and learning.
