The Story Behind Love Olive Co.

BYU-Idaho Radio · The Story Behind Love Olive Co.
Love Olive Co. is a local clothing boutique that started in Rexburg more than 10 years ago. Stephanie Tarnasky is the owner of the shop and shared her story with BYU-Idaho Radio. She said she started the business during her time as a student at BYU-Idaho.

"I just wanted to find something I could do from home that I loved,” she said. “I had just gotten married, and I just started selling jeans on Craigslist.”

She said her business only grew from there. She named her small business The Jean Girl, not expecting it to become as popular as it did. Only a few years after starting the business, she opened her first storefront location in Rexburg just a block off Main St.

Tarnasky said she first realized the store was gaining momentum when she opened the storefront. She changed the name of the shop to Olive Ave., named after her daughter. Just recently, she changed the name to Love Olive Co.

“We have since rebranded for the very last time to Love Olive,” Tarnasky said. “My daughter’s name is Olive, and there is just a lot of connection with love in our business, and obviously Olive because of my daughter.”

While being a business owner is a lot of responsibility, she said her favorite part is spending time and connecting with customers.

“If I could just stay at my store and talk to every person that came in, that would be my ideal job,” Tarnasky said.

Tarnasky said she enjoys using her social media platforms on Instagram and Facebook to connect with women of all ages to help them feel loved and understood.

Love Olive Co. now has two locations, one in Rexburg on Main St. and one in Idaho Falls on Hitt Rd. You can also shop online at loveoliveco.com.
