Have you ever felt like you were falling behind? What do you do when you feel this way? What makes it worse?
On this episode of The Spot, hosts Grace Andrus and Camille Kolditz are joined by guests Milo Andrus and Alex Batman and answer these questions with a deep dive into the feeling of falling behind in life.
At this phase of our lives, it's very easy to feel like our efforts aren't measuring up. Especially with social media so prevalent in our lives, it's easy to compare ourselves to others who may seem more successful than us.
They talked about how important it is not to compare yourselves to others because God has an entirely different plan for you and has specific blessings in store for everyone. Everyone's story is personally unique to them.
They shared their personal experiences of feeling behind due to graduating late, going on a mission, and not being married, which is one of the most common concerns among BYU-Idaho students.
Many people feel the pressure to graduate with a partner. It's common to feel unfulfilled when you don't find someone. Not everyone is meant to find someone in college or in their 20s, and you shouldn't force a relationship just to be like everyone else. Don't beat yourself up; your time will come.
The best way to combat these negative feelings is to seek out the Lord's help. We should communicate how we feel with God constantly, and by always having him with us, we will better trust in him and his timing.
