It’s been four years since the “Boise Boys” were last in a TV show. However, the break is over, and the “Boise Boys” recently announced that a new show is in the works.
Luke Caldwell and Clint Robertson are the “Boise Boys” and stars of popular HGTV shows “Boise Boys” and “Outgrown.” These programs showcase the house-flipping process between two best friends, one a designer and the other a builder. It features aesthetic home renovations and tutorials from the duo in the Boise area.
Now that their five-year contract with HGTV is up, the duo can release a new show with some major differences.
“I think that in a nutshell, the show's going to be a lot of fun,” Caldwell said. “It's going to be a little bit shorter than the episodes that we did on HGTV we're thinking the show is going to be like 20 minutes or less and it's really going to be following, you know, all the different projects that we're doing here in Boise and kind of telling the story and really just exploring the city, our families and our relationship on the backdrop of home renovation.”
Unlike their previous shows, the new show will be able to highlight more specific details in their renovations and show the entire process rather than just the major parts.
“Instead of where, you know, traditionally we're doing like a full hour renovation of one home. Now, it'll be more something in the essence of, you know, we could have like six different episodes just in one house,” Caldwell said. “It could be just the exterior, just focusing on the bathroom or the kitchen or whatever it might be. I'm really excited about that aspect of it because we'll be able to hone in exactly what it is we want to teach tutorial wise whether that be design or through the build portion of the project.”
The new show will start filming this year and will be released in 2025. It will be released onto a free streaming service so viewers all over the world can have free access to the show.
“We're going to be on a channel that is already on over 70 million TVs right now. We're not announcing yet exactly what it will be, but it's basically already on 70 million televisions,” Caldwell said.
In the meantime, while the show is undergoing filming, you can stream past episodes of “Boise Boys” and “Outgrown” on HBO Max, Discovery Plus and the HGTV app.
