Seminar series prepare businesses for casualties

BYU-Idaho Radio · Seminar series prepare businesses for casualties
Abrupt, fatal casualties are a concern for many business owners. They never expect them to happen, but many worry about what they would do if they were to happen. The Private Sector Preparedness Response and Recovery Seminar Series prepares business for such instances.

The seminar series is held on every third Thursday each month and will run until November. They are not cumulative and can be taken individually. The 90-minute seminars include subject matter experts from businesses and the government sharing critical infrastructure best practices, valuable lessons and planning resources to assist with mass casualty impact and recovery.

They are specifically designed for businesses and organizations across the nation.

Jon Hanian, the public private partnerships program manager for the Idaho Office of Emergency Management, encourages businesses to participate in these seminars.

“Nobody ever wants to plan for the worst, but that's why people have insurance,” Hanian said. “This is sort of an insurance policy in terms of your own level of knowledge and preparation that you will be able to fall back on if God-forbid that horrible day ever lands on your doorstep or at your place of business.”
