Rigby Holds Rocket Rally

BYU-Idaho Radio · Rocket Rally Interview with Jeremy Green
Rigby Rockets is hosting their second annual Rocket Rally on Saturday August 8, 2020 at Rigby High School. The Rocket Rally is an event where people can register their own rockets to be launched alongside others in a safe group environment.

The organizer of the group and event is Jeremy Green. He said he hopes can learn to love science through the use of rockets. He said, “I would really like to get a group going where we can start combining different aspects of rocketry, space and programming.”

There will be three types of launches, including two competitions for those who are wanting to enter their own rockets. Participants can choose what they are entered into. The first type of launch will be just for fun. The second type of launch will be timed for maximum time in flight. The third type of launch will be to see which rockets land closest to the launch pad.

Spectators can watch rockets launch and those who want to enter their rocket can submit registration through this google document link.

Last year there were 60 rockets launched and about 150 attendees.

Green says that rockets are a great way to bring people together. He said, “Don’t be afraid to come and try some things out; If you don’t like it that’s fine, but my guess is that everyone who attends will have a good time.”
